Archaeological Investigations

Stimulated by the scope of the archaeological investigations on the church of San Dalmazzo, the parish and diocese of Cuneo are promoting a new study of literary sources on San Dalmazzo.
They range from a probable homily of the sixth century, for the dedication of the small basilica, to a memory of St. Dalmazzo, to the pilgrimage story of the ninth-eleventh century, the so-called “Additio Moccensis” from panegyrics of the life and passion of San Dalmazzo to collections of his miracles written between the 10th and 15th centuries, from the Lyonnais martyrologists of the 9th century to the 10th century missal of Varmondo d’Ivrea, up to the florilegiums of saints from the 14th century onwards.
